My Aging Sofa

Upright with concern

   sinking inward

    conserving it's strength

   many balanced on it's shoulders

relying on it to stand steady and strong

   thousands of stories told

many slept with their hands tucked in it's ceases

leaving memories for it to keep

    some laughed while others cried

in the softness of it's heartbeat

it's a mystery how it stands there

   without defeat......

This could be Personification form too. Absolutely enjoyed. You found a good one to stand strong through so much. I love it when I find the perfect piece of furniture. Never let it go! Great write. Love, Shar
