My Advice To the Media
Please be silent and let your burbling
succumb to autumn's breath.
Where your caterwauling and cacophony
will hopefully meet a timely death.
Please be silent as your thrumming is an
affront to all who read this space.
Where your clamor and your blaring
have become the cause for our disgrace.
Please be silent for there are far better
voices straining to be heard.
And repeating a prevarication in louder tones
does not make it less absurd.
Please be silent as your clatter is made bitter
by a wretched desperate throng.
Who feast upon each bit of meat you tear,
no matter right or wrong.
Please be silent as you add nothing of value
to a discourse that has lost its humble way.
With your pathetic desire for fear and chaos
to make dark the light of day.
So my friend, my dear dear friend, please be silent
as there are things you need to hear.
As when an Angel who by the Grace of God
wants to whisper in your ear.
"If you must create this hell on Earth,
do it quietly and please contain your stress.
You have kept us up for far too long
and we all need to get some rest."
The End
