Musings-Where Are You

I search in vain
I run here and yonder
Wondering how I have missed you
I wake myself crying
Many a night, sometimes
Remembering why, often times not

Is this madness, surely not
Is it just wishful dreaming
God wouldn't be so cruel.
Love was definitely there
It was mutual

Will I ever find you
Surely you can't be an illusion
I still imagine our times together
Were just yesterdays and
One day will be our tomorrows

They say, Hind Sight is 20-20.
I wish, I would have listened
To my Heart years ago.
I think there is a lot
Of truth to that saying.

Maybe it's better to break
A Heart when it's young.
It hardens harder,
Makes it tough
Makes it stop caring so much.

Maybe I'll find you in my dreams,
We'll continue where we left off,
As it should have been and
Spend eternity making up for lost time.
As young as we were back then.
