Musings

I ponder about the life of a tree as I sit across from it watching ripples disturb its mirrored image that lays gentle on the surface of a pond I can't help but wonder how many ripples its seen over its years how many different images of itself it has known Like my own life the ripples of years wash towards me and carry with them the different images I've known I'm not as old or as wondrous as this tree neither do I have its beauty or its grace it has stretched its limbs far beyond its boundaries I have not and though I can see I wonder of all the years I've lived my life I've been here no longer then the years it took to grow the breadth of a single limb Life is the only thing we have in common both our lives are reflected in the ripples that cross the ages that rush towards us until our end Contest GIF 1 2/24/20
