Notes About The Poem

Placed in Musings of the Mind Poetry Contest - sponsored by Ink Empress

Listen to poem:

Musing of the mind

"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible." -- T.E Lawrence, 'Lawrence of Arabia'

I am a dangerous dream,
That haunts your waking hours,
I’ve watched you begin to scream,
Your thoughts locked in their towers.

I kissed the rain away,
So you could see the light,
But now I can’t stay,
You’re spellbound in sunlight.

Don’t let those dangerous dreams,
Become your waking reality,
Stay within the sunlit streams,
Hold fast to your morality.

This is a very thoughtful poem, one I could say also emanates empathy, as youv stated how you see someones demons and the darkness that they keep fighting, and left a very powerful reminder! The voice of this poem is so very real, and soul stirring. Altho the poem is short it says alot , and I admire such poems, which leaves a punch a hit so hard that readers tend to feel. I think the quote is also deep! Youv delivered something that resonates and has a psychological touch which I appreciate! Congratulations on your win

You should not doubt your pen skills (blog), based on this alone, I can see your writing was meant to be. There are politics in contests, regrettably, sadly and unfortunately. I shall read another now that we've 'met.' CayCay
