Notes About The Poem

Music to My Ears

In the predawn
Flashes and thunder wake me
And then it comes
A downpour that would make Noah proud
To have had the faith
And quicken the hammering
Of a few last boards
It’s been weeks but feels like months
Since we’ve had even a bit of rain
And this deluge provides the soothing calm
Music to my ears
Within the storm

As the droughts have broken in large parts of Australia, we have been entertained by many splendorous light shows accompanied by a magnificent drum band.

Music to the ears within the storm! Oh yes! Sometimes thunder can be like that ~ this is so thought provoking and intriguing. Here too, we haven't had much rain..I really love the line "In the predawn Flashes and thunder wake me" that's absolutely moving! Pleasure reading this, sending light.
