Muse

At night when all lay fast abed
I listen to noises in my head
Muse has come to sojourn
sometimes bringing a verse to learn

In and round my head she flies
looking at spots on the back of my eyes
Then so suddenly she’ll cease
go still quietly in her niche

She’ll ponder and plan ,
weave words of beauty
knit songs of duty
caste spells of wonder
twisting them round and asunder

Till all at once she will stare at me
her beautiful words flow in so free

Tendrils of spirit leave her frame
poetry comes to me again
When you wake she’ll disappear
She’s just been whispering in my ear

Whispers aren’t always explicit
sometimes i don’t hear them ,
and totally miss it
With her wiles I’m seduced around
I listen and hear her faraway sound

Once in her spell the words flow out
Bedazzled I write what its all about
So if you hear your muse is near
Don't give a yell or feel any fear

Shes brought you a gift wrapped with love
And inspired by you know who above ….

You have the distinct qualities of a balladeer, and your lyrics flow freely into rich melodies on winds of subtle imagery ... you have brought me a gift and I thank you for sharing, love.
