Muse

My Muse is very fickle
at night he likes to tickle
at times he wants me to chase
and others times I can find no trace
but when I have him we are like lovers
no matter where I am he follows and hovers
I just have to ask and he gives me all I desire
he gives me words so that my poems can fly higher
and when I am sad he wraps his arms around me like a cloak
he whispers sweetly in my ear and my bowed head he will stroke
