Mum

Last night you held my hand as I fell asleep,
Calming me as I drifted off without a peep.
There you were in my dream smiling your smile,
Caring and selflessly being my mum all the while.
Its only in my dreams I see you now, I miss you so.
I seem to hear that pretty song everywhere I go. 
 The one we loved, it was bright and showed me the way. 
And I would give the world if I could hear you sing that song today.

Yes, only once in a while, we have the fortune of meeting our mum either in a broken dream or a reverie. Recently I had a dream when I saw my mom fondling my grandchild and that morning I woke up like a lark full of music on my lips. Enjoyed reading your sweet poem dear Wen. I have a recurring dream that I haven't been to visit my Mum And dad in the nursing home for months. I wake up in a terrible state of guilt, til I realize they both passed to dwell in heaven over 25 years ago, and I visited them 3 times a week every week, I still visit their graves and lay beautiful sheaf's of artificial flowers regularly.
