Mum
My Mum
Mum - did we say or did we agree anything?
Just remind me who are you
Because I don’t remember us talking
Nor us going walking
I remember nothing
Neither life nor death
But I did draw a breath
It was my breath of life and it cut me like a knife
Knowing what I know now, I wish I had made a growl
And not left you to decide how
Life is short and complicated
Yours may have been hard as well
The problem maybe was the nuns
They could hurt all mother’s sons
But let us not forget the daughters, and the Dad’s and the rest of the family nest.
One day life will tell, who we are and give us back that smell
When we were once all babies and our families were together
