Multiple Personalities
I'm a talent trapped by poverty and despair
I'm a voice that's lost in the misty air
I'm a rainbow hidden by clouds of gray
I'm the ear that's cupped to hear what you say
I'm the voice of reason that searches for rhyme
I'm the scribe of seasons. Sojourner of time
I'm celestial questions asked from within
I'm the hope for tomorrow that's hampered by sin
I'm the basket of fruit that never gets eaten
I'm the child of hate that's constantly beaten
I'm a tear from the eye of the blind that can't see
I'm the struggle of soldiers that fight to be free
I'm the spirit that lives within each and in all
Supporting the cast and answering the call
I'm the one that you wish you always had there
To share and to hug. To love and to care
I'm the flower that's shorter but still just as red
I'm the baby that giggles while going to bed
I'm the covers you clench in the night when you ache
I'm the sun that you see in the morn when you wake
I'm the spirit that soars in the dreams of your mind
I'm the light in the darkness that you seek to find
I'm the mystery of ages that no-one can solve
I'm the axis of life on which it revolves
All of these things are reflections of me
But I can't figure out just who I should be
