Mrs H

she has been here for three years
making no sound or name for herself
the other residents cheer and boo
some throw things and have giant fits
she does neither

the nurses and interns call her Mrs. H .
she plays no checkers
watches no tv
sits in her stupor of blue
by herself

some of the weird ones try to make her talk
she gives them no attention
focusing on unseen entities
or unhappy memories
no one knows which
most do not care
