Notes About The Poem

* Seems Santa is a night-owl, and loves the moon as much as we poets do ... on those very rare Christmas Eves with a full moon, he's not in quite as much of a hurry as he would be otherwise, and lets the reindeer take their time. *

Mrs Claus Knows Her Man

thru the hearth
          Santa trudged,
     exhausted ...

"you're late, dear"
          said his wife,
     "but I know ...

"the moon's full."
           ... "I love you,"
     he said, sweet.

Well Greg, you've done it again! Awesome poetry my friend. The picturing of Santa trudging exhausted and the entire story told with such little words nailed this one a top winner. A fave! Congratulations and very Happy New Year. ~Charlie

Nothing like the moon to bring out the romance in folk. Even Santa is a romantic at heart and I can understand his reluctance to hurry home. Nice charlieku Greg. Good luck. Tom.

Indeed, Tom - I think Santa MUST be an extraordinarily romantic old guy, perhaps even taking the little woman for rides in the sleigh on such moonlit nights! Many thanks and blessings, my friend! :-)

Today a friend told me the moon would be full for Christmas. Like the way it gives Santa a nudge in the romantic direction in your Charlieku, Greg. My first thought was to wonder if Santa might be pursued by a werewolf. LOL Excellent entry as always and winning wishes are headed your way. Hugs, Carolyn

The moon is full tonight, Carolyn, (22nd), but it will still be plenty bright when Santa makes his rounds, (yes, I still "believe" - I'll be watching him on NORAD as every year!) ... I hadn't thought of mixing The Bearded One with a monster, but that would be fun! Blessings to you, My Friend! ;-) <3

Thank you so much, Jennifer, I so greatly appreciate your kind words ... my name, however, is Greg, (not Charles), but no biggie - I've been called MUCH worse things! Blessings to you, my friend! :-) <3
