Mr Fats My Dad

As a child You reminded me of Santa With your jolly face and Your big round tummy The way you chuckled brought Lots of laughter into my life You had a happy soul As a teen You tried to teach me The ways of life, along With its painful ups and downs You tried to prepare me For the future and not to be Afraid of it When in pain you comforted me Making everything better You was my angel As an adult You got sick, as I held Your hand and comforted you You took your last breath Almost taking mine with you but Ripping my heart out instead Some evenings while I sit I reminisce about you even Visualizing you standing there With a great big smile on your face
