When I first joined Soup back 5 years ago it was one of Tom's poems that opened my eyes and broadened my horizons on poetry. It was his poem called "Ode To Marmite". At that time I felt like my poems had to be written for a reason (ie gift) or that it had to be wordy and romanticised. What loved about this poem is that it showed me you can just write as the notion takes you... about anything. A true turning point for me in my writing and I feel since reading his poem my own poetry has gained freedom and strength. ☺️👍
