We finally bought a house!
In a course changing wind
we were swept on a breeze
to the little blue house
neath the white almond trees.
Deciding to settle
the first time we looked,
a country lifestyle
had us totally hooked.
We gave up our dreams
through the decade we spent
accepting a lifetime
of still paying rent.
A rare opportunity
gave us a chance
to save up some cash
for the homeowners dance.
Over the course
of the next several years,
memories were made
full of laughter and tears.
The little blue house
had a comfortable way,
no telling just how long
we might want to stay.
Then several years older
we notice the time
and realize we still
have a mountain to climb.
Awaken the dream
of a place of our own
and deepen the roots
of the seeds we had sown.
With prayers and high hopes
we let our dreams fly
and found ourselves sailing
a bright Sonny sky.
There were just a few bumps
as we took a big chance
but with all overcome
we were ready to dance.
In a course changing wind
we were sept on a breeze
from the little blue house
neath the white almond trees,
to a settling place
we could now call our own,
a place we will now
and forever call home.
Thank you, Sonny Nguyen. We are deeply grateful and blessed.
