Moving On

Looking back on what's been before,
On numerous things I shall close the door.
Blessed memories, from near and far,
I promise I will leave the door ajar.
Looking forward to what's to become,
No baggage to carry that's all done.
Trinkets, souvenirs packed away,
To treasure, then cherish another day.
Looking back with no regrets,
I've paid my dues and settled my debts.
Leaving no one behind they're in my heart,
Even when we're far apart.
Looking forward to where I long to be,
You can walk along by the side of me.
Never forgetting where I've been,
All the beauty I have touched and seen.
Looking back, no not I,
Time flies in the blink of an eye.
On occasion I'll stroll down memory lane,
To be with passed loved ones again.
Looking forward, that's where I'm going,
Whichever way the wind is blowing.
Moving on day by day,
I will endeavour to make my way.
