Moving

Thinning down a fat house.
Where to start? Here or there?
What is essential? Is it really needed?
Will it be useful, or just
a holster for dust particles?

Darkened corners long last seen.
Papers, pictures, memories built,
accumulated here and there.
To stay or go? How to decide?

Antiques and heirlooms,
handed down from generations past.
Just seeing them evoke warm and fuzzies
of long ago.
A radio, a china hutch,
the chair that rocked five generations of babies.
All has to relocate.
Packed with the same care that preserved them.
