La mort de Bouddha (circa 1899) by Odilon Redon
The Death Of Buddha

By this age, eighty was extremely old,
and the Buddha’s body was described as
“like an old cart held together by straps”

MOURNING MIST-:-

MOURNING MIST-:-
sighs
 sparks
ascend

gripping
griefs
of EVANESCENCE FADES
mushroom
 tainted
death

impermanence
glides
an ÉLAN VITAL
transitory
 Buddha’s
ephemerality

achieves
nirvana
