mountains on mountains
mountains upon mountains
cradled in the arms of pink sky
light breaks lonely night
birds wake and fly
I’ll sit here in silence
in the grasshoppers I’ll confide
not a word left to tell you
under mountains I cannot hide
worth regret in only the city
passing faces fresh and old
lights persist through day and night
defying all the sky has told
upon mountains on mountains
at last I shall sleep
without your interruption to my dreams
in peace may creep
