Mountains of Your Dreams

Stillness, seldom felt nor found True peace and quiet cannot be bought. No solitude in frenzied towns We charge around, hurried, fraught. Oh, but there is escape. A haven there, with gentle sounds A paradise, by lake and tarn Sanctuary, high above the ground. A winding track will lead you there, Past waterfalls and streams. To a place you'll scarce believe, The mountains of your dreams.

Hi Gary I am a nut for mountains and live here nestled among them overlooking the valley floor. Its the oldest mountain range in the world -the Magalies mountains and where I live is the Cradle of mankind, however, its not as idyllic as your beautiful poem describes. This country is in serious trouble. Sorry I ramble.

England's only Golden Eagle lived here and we were lucky enough to see it, a thrill of a lifetime. Made all the better because my two granddaughters were with us to share the moment Heidi :)

I KNEW I was going to love this one. :) Interesting , you used the word sanctuary. I just put in a poem called sanctuary today about my home in the mountains ...lol. A favorite again, Gary. :)
