Notes About The Poem

I am sure that those of you who have walked along Alpine mountain footpaths have experienced the tranquility that I'm referring to....the full contact with nature, the whispering wind, and the melodious tinkling of cows' bells...

Mount Titlis

below snowy peaks
cows graze peacefully
on verdant slopes...
tranquility tinkles
within my soul

Paul, breathtaking in its beauty, this poem compels me to linger with it, to take time to absorb all of its loveliness, if that's even possible to do. Most poems you read, and some poems you feel, and I'm still feeling this poem, from my eyes to my heart to my soul.. I am touched by the serenity and charm of your words. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Congrats Paul on your second place. I have heard those tinkling and I know just what you mean. PS If you haven't already, have a read of my Ode - 'A Rose by any other name... It's one of the observations we brought back from Japan - I hope that I've described the tranquility of the Rose Garden adequately in it ... Maria

Thank you for stopping by with lovely feedback, Pandita. The Alps are beautiful in summer when the slopes are all in green, while the higher peaks are still covered with snow. Hugs to you too my friend // paul
