Mother's Words
it's a point of interest, at least it is to me,
the power of a mother's utterance
on a child can surely be
my mom, for instance
once told me, when I was but a tot
never eat toadstools, those mushrooms,
cause good for you they're not
so as a result, and up till this very day
the idea of eating mushrooms
and no way will I ever sway
is as close to eating razors
or hornets on the fly
and I wonder how this is
I will wonder till I die
this is but one example
of the power of mom's word
so to mothers out there
I hope you really heard
think out the things you say
measure each with much care
today's casual remark
taken to heart by but a child
can repose for many years
with effects not always mild.
