Mothers Day Revisited
Mothers Day used to be just another day for me, filled with sadness and pain
Even on the brightest day, I couldn't see past the pouring rain.
I curled up in my special place and silently seethed
About those who unknowingly had something I desperately wanted
Whenever I would hear a baby's laugh I felt horribly taunted.
Then a miracle came from two angels plus Heavenly Father
She's made my life complete, my perfect, wonderful daughter.
I'm so happy to be called mom, I thank God everyday
I try to do the best I can in every single way.
I remember the pain of yearning to have a chance, so I can understand
I never forget that she's a gift each time she takes my hand
To those wishing, hurting, praying and holding out hope's ray
I pray that love's purest gift comes someday
Maybe through adoption, caregiving or maybe through birth with a twist
My hope is every mother finally gets her wish.
