Mother of Devotion

A mother uses her pure, gentle touch,
She fills all with her loving care,
When the child falls she is their crutch,
She has a glow, her skin is fair,
Always beside her kin, always there,
Children’s clothes she can sew,
Bread for baking, she makes the dough.

She is mother, constantly full of life,
She has soiled clothes which she must bleach,
Not only mother, also devoted wife,
Cheeks with the sheen of a glowing peach,
Knowledge beyond her children she will teach,
Devoted mother, pure as a dove,
She fills all who cross her life with love.
