Mother Love

Remember that time you told me to die?

Remember the reason why?

Lost and confused at such a young age I was

Needed your help but what use is a lost cause?

Remember that time I wanted you there?

You had to be asked twice but why the hell should you care?

Been to university, graduated that day

But you were hiding your twisted thoughts in your 'pride' for me that day!

Remember that day I married my wife?

You hated her then and still now you despise

Why? She helped me climb out of your deep black hole

She took a broken man and made him whole

Remember the day you turned everyone on me?

I could see past your lies and crocodile tears

I could see you for what you really are, the evil in me?

How could I see so much, how could see your blackened heart?

I knew from the start.

Remember that day you gave birth to me?

Did you look in my eyes and see 'him' in me?

Did you realise then that I was part of you too?

Did you see a child's eyes or a reflection of you?
