mother kisses little red riding hood goodbye
Her heart was pure; she was not fearful of the woods.
Shadows mean opportunities; she was curious and excited.
Her first opportunity to show grandmother her new red cloak.
Her mother cautioned her to be closed and aloof.
Little Red Riding Hood laughed at this warning.
She was eight, innocent, enthusiastic, and open.
Whatever happened, she could handle it.
She kissed her mother, picked up her basket and was off.
Her mother had an uneasy feeling, which she tried to ignore.
She would not be happy until her baby was safely home.
