Mother I Never Met, Just Dont Forget

Just a few lines to let you know, the amount of respect for you i hold
it cannot be measured , it cannot be counted
and from time to time I'm sure its been doubted
your heart glows with goodness and longs for truth
If perfect exists, it would be equal to you
I realize at times, Im not at my best
Don't ever feel that I love you less
to be mothered catches me off guard
because mothering me has got to be hard
I am stubborn and old, and set in my ways
I promise mom, I'll get better with age
you give me a sense of value and worth, Im just not sure how it all works
I'm now too old to grasp what moms and daughters do
So I thank the Lord to finally bless me with you
I wish i could be brave and say this to your face
But I wrote it all down, you can refer to,just in case
There is one thing i ask you to do
Keep this note private...
between me and you
Put it in a safe place, out of harms way
This is me loving you, in my own special way
you deserve beter, I just don't know how, so my words on paper will do for now
your the kindest person i've ever met
I love you mom, just don't forget

Thanks for your comment. So glad you are here, and writing it out. So glad to read you have come so far. Yes, this is a great place with many wonderful friends. Beautiful poem to your mother. Look forward to more of your work. Love, Shar

Sometimes we need help to learn to love again - My children and my wife taught me along with many of the members on this site despite my own self inflicted horrid past - I now devote my time to reaching out through books I write and use the sales proceeds to place them in re-habs, jails and Prisons including the many I have been housed in - I do it because God and I made a deal when I was Lost - We all deserve love and I do hope you can come to fully realize that as I have - God Bless
