Mother Earth
I orbit in emptiness
I reflect with the sun
I give life to everything
I take what you recoil from
My soil broken and arid
My oceans a gutter of debris
Smothering contamination
That’s what you offer me
I accepted you as a guest
I honored your every request
I endure to give you life
My fragility shows
And though you know
You change not your appetite
When I have nothing left
For whom will you cry?
Or stretch the appendage to ease
Hello……
it’s me Mother Earth…..a little love PLEASE !
