Mother

The most mesmerizing motherly
smile upon her face
I remember that from
when I was still
sleeping in a cot
and......
the food
I always got plenty
no one cooks like mother
oh how I miss her
her words of wisdom
when I had opposite
gender trouble
father was never here
mother was for everything
she had a certain way
of smoothing things over
with the others
without smothering
the tiniest of ants
good god, I miss her
