Mother
In the drama of life you have the most important role,
A whining child or dejected man your touch can console.
A whole new life to a foetus you bestow,
By people you are valued far more than you know.
Your journey starts when you leave your father’s house,
By uniting and allocating your life to your spouse.
Their house is considered by you as a new home,
Around your new household your life will now roam.
To make your house a home day and night you strive,
You are the happiest when a new member is about to arrive.
With great care and tenderness you look after the unborn soul,
Whether it is by eating healthy or taking a stroll.
Nine months of labour fruits a bundle of joy,
On its first glimpse a mother has a tear of elated cry.
On a woman’s name the title of mother is forever etched,
Love for the child in your heart is forever sketched.
You spend your life in the little one’s care,
You can see in its eyes emotions from love to glare.
The gratitude for you in our hearts can never be expressed,
The key to a mother’s love and energy has always been a quest.
Thanking you for your sacrifices can never be enough,
You can keep calm in all situations tough.
A boon has been granted to mankind in the form of a mother,
And I don’t think that your greatness can be described by me any further.
