Mother

she whom I call mother
calls me child
in soothing tones of warm honey
she calls me child
since time immemorial.

in her embrace comforting like sheep wool
she holds me
covering me in her endless warmth
for all time
her warmth envelopes me.

her eyes shine with love
bright like the Northern star
unwavering and steady
as she gazes down at me.
in her eyes, i learn of love
never ending, never changing
love unconditional
as she calls me child!
