Mother

I wrote this for my mom since it's the anniversary of her passing today Today marks the day, my heart's heavy stone, A decade has gone by, yet grief fills my heart even more so at home Mom, I'm missing you more than words could ever say, Every milestone, every memory, every second of everyday. I wish you could've met Ethan he’s a King for shore, Your love would've wrapped him tight, and he still would of loved you more. I reminisce on robbed moments, celebrations we should of shared, Memories that are incomplete without you there. ALS took you from me, a cruel, heartless fate, Leaving me feeling lost and alone , a love and feeling that’s impossible to imitate. I wish you were here, to help guide me through life's strife, my true compass, always steering me right to the light. Before you passed I used to think it’s darkest at night, but since I lost you I see that I wasn’t right. It's darkest in my head now that you’ve gone away. To share in joys, or even wipe my tears away. In dreams and memories, you're still by my side, A constant presence who saw right through me & All the pain that I hide. True love and acceptance you always did provide, The Love we shared nothing could ever compare. Even though physically Im aware your not there, I try to be like you, the best mom which no one can compare. One day I’ll see you again that I have to believe. When I look in the mirror it makes sense I see that you do live on inside of me. When I look up at the sky I hope to see you there , Pain free and smiling keeping an eye on all of us from up there. I'll tell Ethan stories of you're honesty, guidance and light, The way you shone, like a star, on a darkest night. He'll know your spirit, your strength through And though , even though you're gone, the mark you left was pure and true Today's a rough day, but I'll get through the pain, Knowing you're watching over me, guiding me through life and all that remains, a beacon in the night, Guiding me forward, until we met again I love you mom, I hope I'm making you proud ????
