Mother
Mother Earth is ruptured and broken
Her fledglings are ill and dying
Losing a battle to sustain Life
They look to Mother Earth once
Bountiful and plentiful a womb
Of cleanliness and rapture
Now black and barren
Mother Earth cries tears by waves
Winds of tornadoes and hurricanes
The ground thunders beneath her
Volcanoes spew flames and lava
Her fledglings Ill and dying
Turn the other cheek look up
If only they heard her noise
Understood her signs things
Could change and Mother Earth
Would become green again.
