I was a democrat for all my life until Obama's terms were over. I even voted for him twice. When the 2016 election season came around, it was evident, to me, that the Democrats were no longer representing the tenants of the Constitution that our founders had so intelligently penned and had lasted more than 200 years. When Obama's terms were over,Washington, both the Democrats and Republicans, had become the swamp. The establishment in both parties only cared about the power and not the people.
Then Trump came along and ran as a Republican; which he had not always been. Neither party wanted him. Even when he was elected, Constitutionally correct, he was not immediately accepted by either party, and was never accepted by the Democrats. It is my opinion, that if the two parties did not hate each other as much as they do, Trump would not have been accepted by the Republicans either, and Congress could have been the working balance of power that the founders planned.
Washington is such a mess now, that one party must have the Presidency, the House and the Senate or nothing of consequence will get done permanently, through correct governmental process, for another four years.
Shame on Washington and shame on We the People for putting the U.S.A.in this position.
We needed change to start to get out of this situation and it is my opinion that electing Trump has started that for all. I'm not saying that he has been all Presidential, because he hasn't. However, also in my opinion, the Democrats are not offering any alternatives that would continue to move us forward and not deeper into the swamp that still exists.
As a result I have written another one of my political poems that provides you with my thoughts on the next voting in November.
God help us all and God help the U.S.A.
