Morphine and More of It

Her spirit lingered for days, wandering around the hospital visiting her friends, making small talk Some heard, others thought she was a mosquito spirit returned to Room 119 often, to check on body Body was having a difficult time Chest rattle said it was time to go Body would not give up Spirit was hoping hospice would come in Morphine! So sad when someone fights so hard not to go to the next part of their journey. I have seen this, and it is not pretty. Then, there are those who just peacefully drift away. My friend Dave did that. He wanted to go, so he did. He is still very much with me, as I have a wonderful painting he did hanging on my living room wall.

I told my sister I am not going to have a headstone; I think they are creepy. She said how will people visit you? I said they can look at my 500 paintings, read my 13,400 poems, and read my seven books.
