Morning Pearl

 

Woke to a pearl sky,
hued-   a milky white,
. . . clouds twirling, swirling,
a dawn cloaked in fog,
for my morning hike ~
            after the rain storm !

The short lines and airy spacing give the poem a gentle, drifting rhythm, echoing the “twirling, swirling” clouds. The pearl and milky-white imagery creates a softly luminous scene, while the morning hike brings a personal sense of anticipation to the rain-washed dawn.
