Morning

The morning awakens you,
a slight touch of sun upon your face
you slowly slide back into life's
not so gentle embrace

you reluctantly stumble
to complete the routine morning chores
but in your mind you're out on holiday
visiting lovely distant shores

the half-asleep demeanor
does not allow for much mistake
because every single corner
would just love a toe to break

but you manage your way through
even with your mind adrift
because GOD FORBID YOU'RE LATE
FOR ANOTHER ****IN SHIFT!

Good morning poet, what a routine I see myself doing daily as well. I loved the softness as you started then the end like damn. you got it real. I enjoyed :)
