Morganstern

Morgenstern Oh, in the dark at eveningtide Brightness beams so near to Earth And Venus magnifies it’s light An evening star to greet the night But afore the sun will greet the day A tiny glow will show the way Up in the east the glimmer dims A blast of sun obscures it’s being A Good morning Morning Star Guten Morgen Morgenstern February 20, 2017

Nice that you mention Venus, the planet. A double star connection, evening/morning. Have you German heritage?

Just found this meaning of morganstern - a weapon consisting of a ball set with spikes attached to the end of a club, often attached by a chain.

I didn't know that was the meaning of Morgenstern. Educational and enlightening piece Ralph.

I'm assuming your reference here is for Mercury which is almost always seen just before the sun sets or rises. I seldomly see it but Venus is incredibly bright in the evening. A very lovely poem Ralph.

Hi James: Mercury is also called the morning star but Venus is the evening star and morning star.
