More Than Words

Every time I write a poem its more than words
You can't have a happy ending without pain first
You go through heartbreak before You find the one, that's just the way it works
Every time I put pen to paper its more than words

I've had more losses than wins, but I'm still standing
Failed with a few ideas but I'm still planning
Gained scars while fighting through the storm
I'll give up the day a fat lady sings while riding a unicorn

I overcame what they said i couldn't and it Felt great
They tried to embarrass me but i still had a Pale face
Got told I'd end up dead or in jail
So they tried to put it in my head that I'd fail

But I bounced back from every set back
I recovered from all scars and wounds
I found hope in myself, without praying to the stars and moon
Overcoming odds is what I'm best at

Tomorrow isn't promised, and I won't waste my time trying to repair yesterday
People talk a lot, but you gain mote from what they never say
The best of me is yet to come, I've survived the worst
When I put pen to paper, its more than words
