More Than Lust

What is lust tell me true,
Is it something missing inside of you?
A hunger no one else can see,
A restless, quiet vacancy?

Is it the need to feel alive,
A rush, a thrill, a place to hide?
A craving clothed in heat and skin,
A fleeting high that pulls you in?

Or is it deeper something torn,
A wound you’ve carried since you were born?

Because it feels good yes, it does,
Don’t dress it up for what it was.
It wasn’t love, it wasn’t fate,
It was a choice you chose to make.

You wanted it don’t twist the truth,
Don’t hide behind some wounded youth.
Don’t call it weakness, don’t call it pain, When you would go and do it again.
But then it breaks it always will, When silence turns and truth stands still.
When masks fall off, when lies decay,
And “just this once” won’t go away.

“I’m sorry… I’ll change… I swear I’ll fight,”
“I prayed about it late last night.”
“I’ve got a spirit… I lost my way…”
But will you change or just delay?

And the one you hurt… they fall apart,
Picking at pieces of their heart.
“Am I too much? Or not enough?
Too weak, too strong, too cold, too rough?”

“Not pretty enough? Not worth the stay?
Is that the reason you walked away?”

No
Don’t you dare let them take that blame,
Don’t you dare let them wear your shame.

Dear child… look at me,
This was never your identity.
You didn’t cause what they chose to do,
Their actions never belonged to you.

They stepped outside, they crossed that line,
Not because you failed but they declined
To stand in truth, to stay, to fight,
They chose the dark instead of right.

So you
Own it.

Stop hiding behind empty pleas,
Behind soft words and bending knees.
Say it clear, don’t twist, don’t pretend:
“I wanted it.” say to the end.

It felt good, didn’t it? say it loud.
Strip the lie, drop the cloud.

So what changed now? what made you stop?
Was it guilt… or getting caught?

Because lust will take and take and take,
Until there’s nothing left to break.
It feeds on silence, thrives on lies,
Then leaves destruction in disguise.

And when it’s done, when it’s complete,
It walks away on hollow feet.

So ask yourself don’t turn away,
What are you chasing every day?
A moment’s fire? A borrowed touch?

Or something real…
that matters much
More than lust.
