More Than A Shadow
Life is a shadow that changes with time.
The sun shall rise on life one day.
The shadow cast is small.
As life goes on and years go by,
the shadow stretches tall.
So when the shadow chases time
and each day spreads its wings,
I carry on and live my life
while doing many things.
As years go by and knowledge grows,
the shadow grows as well.
Those days I pondered shadow length,
it urged me to excel.
The time affects my life and breath.
It’s like a brutal lord.
It whips my shadow like a steed.
They work in one accord.
So how can I redeem the time,
and slow the shadow’s sprint?
I strive to see my life become
much more than just a glint.
I must confirm my life is more
than something I have wrought.
I’ve made my peace with God above.
My shadow fades to naught.
