More Than a Lover

Like a shadow
you slipped into my life
just to talk to me
you waited in strife
more careful than others
you didnt knock down walls
but took one brick away at a time

you waited so sweetly
for me to talk
to tell you secrets
that id tell others not
and let me build up
something so strong
trust for you that truly belonged

you found my weakness
and kept it safe
makeing a smile
come to my face
making me laugh
when i wanted to cry
and holding me gently
when i wanted to die

sometime silently
you found a path
to my heart
like it was simple math
you unlocked chains
and slipped inside
never to ever make me cry

when i was hurt
i came to you
you asked me please
if you could hurt them too
make them wish
that i was okay
make them beg
for another day

into my ear
you whisper sometimes
telling me that secrets
as you hold me tight
Spanish words flow into my ear
as you pull me close
as you pull me near

i love you too
i whisper back
and know that these feelings
are a fact
more than a friend
not like a brother
more than a boy friend
more than a lover
