More Reflections On Being Ninety

MORE REFLECTIONS ON BEING NINETY Another decade has passed me by Ninety years have flown and I wonder why God leaves me here, as cherished friends Fall ill and die. So many memories cloud my mind Each passing year I seem to find More empty chairs friends left behind Less Birthday cards to sign I have never achieved lasting fame The world does not even know my name But through the years, within my brain Though youth has flown…I feel the same! Don’t waste time mourning the past The bird of youth wasn’t meant to last Each phase of life brings its own reward Embrace this stage, you won’t be bored. The Winter of life, unlike early Spring Rife with wondering what Life will bring Knows the legacy of LOVE they left Family and Friends Is what really matters when this life ends!
