It's so wrong in this date and age, that a woman had to die, because she wanted to wear make up and cut her hair, and for this, she is no more. What a sad situation she had to die because of a perverse law. the world mourns her, Great poetry David. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

Thanks Jennifer, I was delighted to write this little tribute for Mahsa and all oppressed women everywhere, my god the name alone (morality police) misogynistic medieval perverts, cheers David

Thank you for sharing her story... Iran's situation is getting worse every minute, and it seems that no country wants to get rid of the Islamic regime from the middle east... It is very profitable for the U.S, China, and Russia... They don't care about human rights... as long as they can sell guns.

Yes carter was a liberal but did not instigate matters in Iran, he probably didn’t do enough to prevent them, but the second the khomeini thing, touched down in Iran, the American hostage crisis started, and the Islamic state gathered pace, Modern day Iran is a self made shit show, I stand by my point that the US has more sanctions placed on them than any other country in the world, Time for the world to stop blaming the US for their own self made failures,

Iranians didn't bring the ayatollahs... It was President Carter who removed the shah of Iran and brought Ayatollah Khomeini.

Without getting into a political debate and deflecting from the real issue at hand, no other country in the world has more sanctions and restrictions placed on Iran, than the US alone, the Iranians themselves brought these ayatollahs back and put them into power, now their whole system is rotten to the core, because of their medieval religious instructions, they killed Mahsa, and must solely share the blame, cheers David

David sharing this great truth should be known by all. The hypocrisy in these men to do this to women. When will they ever learn so sad for these women terrorized by the police of Hell... Thank you for sharing my friend. I shared with my wife and she told me about the incident...

Thank you Michael, it really is an eye opener for many people around the world, but the Iranian government or whatever it pretends to be, are the sole perpetrators of these crimes against women and humanity in general, they’re an absolute disgrace, cheers David

Glad you memorialized this soul in your poem. Glad people are standing up for her with courageous fervor. I met a girl from Pakistan. She was beautiful though because she was a Christian and turned down a proposal by a Muslim, he came back and threw acid in her face.

It’s absolutely horrific these crimes against innocent girls and women Kim, and then to hide behind some obscure religious law as an excuse to carry out these heinous acts is even more depraved, I hope my little Monoku goes a little way, to remind people of the injustices suffered by these women everywhere, cheers David

Outrageous to murder a woman for tresses of her hair escaping. Do Iranian men have no control of their libido that they are tempted to commit immoral acts of rape because strands of a female’s hair are showing?

Absolutely Jenna, what better way to take the blame off their own shortcomings, than to put the onus onto women, makes absolutely perverted sense, then the real act of genius to hide these abuses behind some ancient religious law, Dark Ages ideology for sure, cheers David

That was a terrible occurrence, David; that country, like others that adhere to their doctrine, remains in the medieval era. No one has the authority to act as both a jury and a judge. Masha is a tremendous hero, and her death has touched something deep within all of us. That is her memory, and many women and men never forget her or this awful catastrophe, and may the required improvements be brought about.

I agree with your sentiments Lasaad, but fear this will try to be brushed over and stamped out by the hardline religious fanatics in Iran, and other similar countries around the world, the dark ages of enlightenment are upon us, cheers David

David, thank you for this poem. Truly no person has the right to be judge and jury. Masha is a true saint whose death has sparked something very deep in us as a people. That is her legacy and may, women or men, never forget her or this horrible incident and bring about the needed changes. Funny, the chickens always come home to roost in one way or another. Blessings and gratitude to you.

Thank you for such an inspiring comment Sam, this is just the tip of a crumbling iceberg we’re seeing, I believe Mahsa was purposely singled out by the (morality police) to serve as a warning to others, but they never suspected such a backlash from their own people, another major miscalculation by so called enforcers around the world, they will be faced down, cheers David

That was a shocking incident David, that country is still living in the dark ages along with others who follow a certain religion. Some countries in the world I won't visit and that's one of them. Tom

It really is sickening Tom, morality police indeed, and then to say they do it to protect women from men, no wonder their country is gone down the tubes, I’d never visit such a place either, cheers David
