Moonlit Memories

Beneath my tree I sit illuminated by the light of the moon, In the middle of a yard where voices traveled throughout the day. Distant memories linger across the grass, From sports we played and good times we had. The summer air still rings with familiarity, Yet it seems different somehow. Each breeze takes me back to another time, Where the problems of life seemed nonexistent. Although Time has taken these days away, The memories remain in the darkened sky. Cool grasses hold traces throughout the day Of happy moments we had as Time passed by. Happiness and sadness intertwine, As I recall those days once mine.
