Moonlight Magic
Soft is the veil of the moon
upon my face
illuminating my inner being
filling me with wonder.
Silently I watch moonbeams
dancing, weaving patterns
in silky slow motion
over an endless sea.
Oh, glorious moon
will you weave your
moonlight magic
into my dreams?
How you shimmer
under the midnight sky
caressing the edges
of the earth.
Oh rare, stunning jewel
of brilliance
stars stare and admire you
for have been set apart
from the rest.
Now you rise
in regal splendor, spreading
your opalescent wonder
that sparkles like sequins
on an elegant gown.
Your sheer beauty shines
for all the world to see
keep shining, oh silvery moon
spread your luminous magic
o’er all the earth, as you have
from time immemorial
from ancient of days.
