Moonlight

It’s burning me in such a way, That it’s a burn I can endure, Like its brother does during the day, But without the pain it lures… With a glow that blankets all I see, In the softest form of white, Casting shadows that is part of me, That will move each way I might… As it gathers in a running stream, I submerse between the breaks, Just to take it with me in a dream, To assure that I can wake… So just lay bacK in the night light, While you slowly slip away, Disappearing into what might, Seem to fall between each ray... Although we look up and see stars, They're just shadows of the moon, That hides between each dream of ours, But disappear from sight too soon...
