MOONLESS NIGHT

It's one of those nights The moon hoards its light Fireflies taking stage Lighting life into our gasping breaths. Stars whispered known secrets To the cool, quiet breeze Grass beneath the sheets we lay Cries for mercy as our act painful. Our shadows danced softly On the porch's dark floor A cricket curiously whistles To our intense emotions it applauds. We lay without words Gazing at the empty sky Each breath a soft echo,l Of dreams we would share. Our hearts intertwined Under the night's gentle veil We found silent comfort In the moonless night's fairy tale.
