Moon Song
I’ve lived life for over half a century.
Experienced love and loss with equal mystery.
Known pain deep and real. I carry physical and mental scars and some will never heal.
I see life differently to back then. Those summer golden skies of youth, their echoes flicker in the wind.
Time flies and waits for no one. We sing songs to the night sky asking for its wisdom.
We watch the arc of the moon knowing our ancestors did the same thing.
We dance to the tune of fools knowing and loving the song that we sing. We ask of our minds how to be strong, we ask of this life: where do I belong?
